help, should i tell my crush i like him?

idk, i wish i could read my crush's mind to see if he likes me, i mean, because if he doesn't whatever i can move on, and if he does, it'd be amazing, i'm thinking if i should tell him but maybe that'd be weird since we're friends since idk 4 months ago? and we don't know each other pretty well, but i heard that one of my friends told him that a girl was having a crush on him(me but they didn't tell him it was me) and he asked if it was me, and my friend said no because i told them not to tell him and my friend told me he got visibly a little sad when they said it wasn't me!!! but i still don't know because he never texts me or does any of those things that appear in movies, like holding hands or getting nervous around (i don't think he is the type of person who gets nervous at all, he is always so happy and calm, idk, maybe he isn't, he just seems to be but idk, i'm not a visionary
