Hi guys ( ˙▿˙ ) I'm back! Tbh, I've been away because I keep forgetting to open my blog—sorry for abandoning you, hehe. Anyway, since I haven't written in a while, I'll have to catch you up on everything I've been doing—yayyy! ⸜(⸝⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝⸝)⸝

RETRO STUFF (b ᵔ▽ᵔ)b

I absolutely love retro things. I don't like cell phones, yet I rely on mine for so many things—waking up in the morning, listening to music, and staying in touch with family and friends. However, over the last few months (actually, even longer than that, hehe), I’ve wanted to replace it with physical media; I enjoy buying and burning CDs, and I recently bought an iPod. I’m also saving up for a flip phone so I can still communicate; I found a really nice silver Motorola V3. I’m still a bit short on the money, but I’m almost there—I’m so excited! (๑˘︶˘๑)

the virgin suicides

I saw this movie very recently—literally this past Saturday—and I absolutely loved it. I had seen so many edits on social media and so many people talking about it that I really wanted to watch it. I bought the DVD at a sort of garage sale, and it’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. \(★ω★)/

2. Little Women

I read the Virginia Woolf book and loved it so much that I wanted to watch this movie (even though it hadn't really appealed to me before), and I never imagined I’d enjoy it this much. It’s a story that feels so intimate and warm, yet tragic at the same time. I liked how the lighting was warmer in the flashback scenes—where they were all together or at home—whereas in the present-day scenes, when they no longer live together and their lives have changed drastically (due to an event I won't spoil for you if you haven't seen it), the look is much colder and more muted. ⸜(⸝⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝⸝)⸝

3. buffalo 66

I know this movie is widely loved, which is why I wanted to watch it. It’s not one of the best movies I’ve ever seen, but I don’t think it’s bad. I liked that they didn’t portray Billy as the typical tough guy—the kind with problems who always maintains a dominant persona and all that. Instead, they showed Billy as what he truly is: a human being capable of suffering, feeling, and crying; in fact, he is shown crying and being vulnerable multiple times. (ﾉ´ з `)ノ

lolita

I absolutely hate this movie; both the book and the film are trash. It’s literally just an hour of abuse, and the best part is when it ends. The story is about a teacher or writer—I don't quite remember—who was looking for a place to stay. He arrives at Dolores's house, and at first, he doesn't like it; the place is messy, and he dislikes her mother's attitude. He’s on the verge of turning down the room until he sees Dolores lying in the yard reading a magazine—that was one of the scenes in the movie. He viewed Dolores as the object of his desire, even though she was about 14 and he was like a million years old. ٩(ఠ益ఠ)۶
