As someone who is starting high school, I find it very stressful because I'm supposed to have my life all planned out already. Like how do grown ups expect SIXTEEN year old to know which life route we want to take, which university we will go to, what will we study in univerity all while starting 10th grade?!? Now I know that you can always choose something different later in life but for example: now starting 10th grade i school social studies route, all of a sudden I decide that I want to learn biology, but guess what! I can't switch classes because in social studies they don't teach biology!! MAKE THAT MAKE SENSE. Also not only do I have to make life changing decisions already, but I will have to make new friends, meet new people etc. Which yesh is fun but also nerveracksing, like what if I don't fit in? What if I don't make new friends? I don't want to be all alone for the next 3 years... But okay, it is what it is.
Tho I do want to know your opinions and if there are any tips please let me know!!

dude i feel this, i picked my hs options at like 12 or 13 and over in the UK (at least in London) what you pick can close down your options for future professions πΏπΏ

Hey, I just finished highschool!
As much as I hate to sound like a patronizing grown-up, I do have to say that highschool is honestly not that deep. I have a friend who did language studies in hs, then went to uni for biology, and is doing perfectly fine! University usually starts you off with all the basics, regardless of what you studied before then, it just might take a little bit of extra effort.
As for the friend thing, extracurriculars are ur best friend! You might end up in a class full of people you hate, you might not, but regardless, it's a lot easier to find friends within a group of people who are doing a hobby that you also like.Β
Whatever happens, even if it gets difficult, do NOT change yourself. It's not worth it to force yourself to be a whole other person for a group of people you won't even know anymore after a few years.
I hope this was helpful somehow, and I hope you have a great first year of highschool! Good luck <3
