Holiday weekend yum yums

Since I’m home for the weekend due to injury I’ve been doing the whole cooking for the weekend thing for the family. We have the kids over and since hubby isn’t 100% yet and I’m only down to 80% I did all the fun stuff for the holiday weekend. Yesterday was chili dogs and fries and today was bbq chicken with corn and shells and cheese. Tomorrow is my younger granddaughter’s 11th birthday and her party. And it looks like my SIL is making brisket and chicken in the smoker and burgers and hot dogs too. I’m pretty excited about that. And my granddaughter, oh my I can’t wait to see her and my other granddaughter and grandson. I’ll be taking my youngest stepson with me since the older two stepkids have plans tomorrow. So I really tried the whole resting thing but that is so hard when you have a big family. I even have an appointment with my regular doctor on Tuesday which is totally unrelated to my foot injury so maybe I can rest Wednesday if the orthopedic doctor doesn’t plan anything that day. I am off until the 10th so far. But anywho, I hope you all had a great holiday weekend. Later gators!
