orientation day is today and I couldn't actually sleep all night, probably bc I woke up at 5 but I'm also a bit nervous
I tried to talk to someone I had friended on here and they said something I had no idea how to respond to even though it probably wasn't even that hard. I freaked out and unfriended them after giving a shitty response that they laughed at.
how the fuck are you supposed to make small talk or just keep conversations in general going? I can answer questions just fine and ask basic ones but that's it, just questions and maybe a really bad joke. I'm not good at this, is there like a secret or something? like what am I supposed to say? "oh nice fucking sky above us am I right?" like what? I need proper advice this time
I'm better at being less nervous than I was 2 years ago now that I'm more apathetic than ever towards other people(not that that's a good thing) but I still shake and sweat even when talking online. ik its like a muscle and that I need to talk to people to get better at talking to people but I really just need some bullet points for the basics bc I 4got everything apparently

I usually just hit them with a weird ass joke or start talking about something I like, if the person actually wants to interact with you or get to know you then conversation thi way is easy, if they don't then just stop talking to them. That's what I do

I also don't know how to talk to people. I overthink and regret everything i say. Even now its hard to comment but i try my best to ignore the feeling. It was worse few years ago, but now i say anything, even some bullshit to keep the convo going and hope the other person doesn't put too much thought to it..
Same I just say bullshit when talking to my grandma but I feel like that only works bc her English is bad
