HOW I ACCIDENTALLY LOCKED MYSELF OUT OF MY HOUSE (and heroically got back in)

This happened just now and probably the craziest thing that has happened to me this week... (easy to say when we're only 2 days in but still)

So to start i was at home when my mom came up to me and said she was going to pick up my grandpa (who lives in the countryside) and usually the trip there and back takes about 2 hours so i was happy since i had a lottt of time to blast my music on speaker without worry, BUT one thing she told me was that i couldn't go out, Not even to the store infront of our house to buy

I wasn't planning on even getting anything but once i heard her say that, I got the urge to go to the store and buy some snacks, Which is what i did a few minutes after she had left to make sure she wouldn't see me going out, So i head out, And i close the door behind me

Soon after doing that, I realized that I DIDN'T HAVE THE KEY, Since she took the key with her, I knew i had fucked up as soon as i did that, And already pictured myself just having to wait on the front porch for God knows how long until she came back, But undeterred, I still headed out

My original plan was to almost close the door, About to the point i could still open it and go the closest store as quickly as possible, But now that it was actually closed, I didn't have to worry about someone breaking in anyway, So i went to a store that was more blocks away (I really enjoy going to walk at night so that's a good thing that came out of all this) and got my stuff, Walked all the way back and that's when i began to try and get back in

Now the first thing i tried was going to my room, Since i don't really bother locking my windows i thought i would just get in that way and be done with it (Rough diagram of my room, The cyan blocks are supposed to be the windows, The grey is the fence)

The first thing i did was to try to open the smaller window, Since it was really easy to get in from there, I tried to open and it turns out i DID lock it... And not only that, After trying to do so i woke up my neighbor's dogs who all started barking loud as fuck at the same time! I thought they'd come and ask me what the fuck i was doing, But they never saw me, And were too busy trying to get the dogs to shut up to investigate why they were barking in the first place (although they bark at basically anything so it doesn't surprise me)

After my first failed attempt, I went back to the larger window, Now this one was much higher than the smaller one, So it wasn't ideal that THIS one was the one that was open (wtf, me) and even though there was a platform on the fence i used to get a little higher and a lot of time trying, I still couldn't get the fuck in, Mostly because there wasn't even anything i could hold onto in my room to try and get in, I thought i was done for sure, And that i'd just have to wait for my mom to get home and open the door for me

Now as i was going back, I realized that maybe, Just maybe, Some of the other windows were also open, And i could get in that way, And as luck would have it, There actually was! The guest room had the window open, And due to some wood sticking out, I finally managed to climb my way in!

This whole experience was taught me a valuable lesson, And the lesson is to always leave my small window open whenever i go outside incase i get locked out my house, Overall it was pretty fun
