how often does ao3 get waves of hate by new users for it's lack of censorship cuz this feels like deja vu

apparently i heard rumors of wattpad refugees causing hell for some ao3 authors bc they either don't know how or don't want to learn how ao3's tagging system works and stumble upon fic with content they don't fw. personally. there are a lot of tags on ao3 i wouldn't touch with a ten feet pole (god i wish i never knew that "lesbians getting dick" was a tag) but like going as far as to mass report authors, spam negative comments, harras them outside ao3 and call for the site to established censorship (which was what caused them to leave wattpad) is unhinged behavior, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE THE TOOLS TO AVOID THIS STUFF!

this should obviously be said that i know that this is only a minority of the wattpad refugees doing ts, and this wouldn't affect ao3 in anyway, but omfg fandom etiquette died in 2020 and this is the hell it left behind
