[Spacehey crosspost]
[I'M NOT HATING ON EITHER OF THESE SITES I'M NOT HATING ON EITHER OF THESE SITES I'M NOT HATING ON EITHER OF THESE SITES]
brief edit: I made this when I was uncertain of how Def3ct was taking all of this. He's not okay with it. Leaving unedited for clarity
Meet excessive promotion via algorithm exploitation!
This cycle repeats again.. first it was Napo v. Spacehey, now it'll be FriendRewind v. Spacehey. Because rather than letting people choose what site they want to use, you can always give people FOMO by redirecting the crowd to a different site. It's peer pressure and manipulation en masse. You can say whatever you like about FriendRewind or Spacehey, but more than anything, this will be what ruins FRW for a lot of people. It's not the people, it's not the site itself, but how users constantly praise it as if it is perfect, the BEST alternative to Spacehey, that EVERYONE should move. Spacehey is considered a first for many in the oldweb atmosphere, and most do not want to suddenly switch because of whatever reason a person may give. This is exactly what happened with Napo. It's not going to work out in the long run for Def3ct nor FriendRewind itself.
Spacehey has an algorithm. Obviously, that's why blogs get so popular with very little interaction. It's a very basic algorithm, however. As long as you keep clicking on a blog - not giving it kudos or commenting per se - it will get boosted. It can even be your own. An is very unlikely to fix this seeing as how there's lots of instances of code rot and overall neglect of Spacehey. Go ahead, download an autoclicker and try it yourself. You don't even need a bot to do this.. that's how terrible it is.
I'm not telling you to stay on Spacehey or leave FriendRewind; I use both regularly and they're fine in their own ways. However, you should not let pressure or what's popular at the moment steer you into something new. This is how sites get a massive spike in users but then half of them are inactive a month later. Choose what you like. And my piece of advice to Def3ct himself; please don't let yourself be okay with this. It may seem like good engagement and free advertising, but it's not. It got Napo in hot water, it'll get FriendRewind in hot water. This is the second time this has happened and I doubt it'll just stop within a day. This kind of thing led to a site war, users getting harassed and bullied, so on and so forth. It's not good at all, and I don't want to see another repeat of this happen. Most people don't.

Thank you for this. All of the drama is so annoying and I wish people would stop spamming friend rewind ads on spacehey. It gives this site a bad look. I have been on here for more than a year and I don't plan on leaving soon. I am PRAYING all of that mess doesn't carry over.

I've heard of SpaceHey lately the same time I heard of FriendRewind.
I was gonna give SpaceHey also a shot but and I registered for the Waitlist, the same time I started using FriendRewind.
So far I'm having fun here and I'm not aware of this site wars thing though I'm seeing people talking about SpaceHey here.
So far I don't think I even got an Invitation Link on my E-Mail from SpaceHey and I could care less anyway.
The owner having SpaceHey locked behind Invite Only Registration for me effectively shot SpaceHey on the foot.
But I hope there would be no Site Wars, and so far I see people being matured here (which is good.) and pretty much minding their own business.
What should we focus on, are making these website an alternative from the Major Mainstream Social Media Websites like "Facebook" and "X" and that slop of a website named "TikTok".
