[This is just my overall thoughts as a black person and me being tired of this]
I didn't listen to birdbrain remix fully [because I don't use tiktok that much and not really the type to listen to a lot of remixs. I only heard of it because the Jamie Paige spoke about this issue]
But I don't know what the fuck just happened. It's confusing because why would you mention things like gang signs, violence, drugs [like they said it was a good thing there wasn't any violence, gang signs, etc in the remix]??? I'm pretty sure there're popular artists in different genres who aren't black that also mention violence, drugs in their songs. You don't need to mention that when others literally do the same [Unless we're mentioning that because of how people stereotype black people]
Listen I would understand if you said rap isn't your preference. I get it cuz the few genres I listen to are rock, alt/indie, and pop, and I don't listen to rap music a lot, but you don't have to straight up say "Rap is overstimulating". When there're vocaloid songs that can be overstimulating too that you listen to, or "Slayr is one of the good yn". That's straight up racism at this point. [Also still calling them slurs as yn is literally just young nigga for short.]
This whole situation is just annoying at best because there're people who can't just say a remix is good without adding that an artist is a good yn or mentioning violence like Black people are the only ones making music about that. But as long as they grow up and learn that what they said wasn't good and become better people. Then that would be great
[Also had to put it in the rants/vents category cuz this feels like it wouldn't fit the music category as much as I thought]
