i feel like people either overstate or understate american living quality

like it doesnt have to be either "america is a fucking awful third world country" or "america is a perfect utopia" like as an american citizen i would say it's a piss poor first world country. 

like yeah we do have government services and we're lucky to even have them at all considering a lot of places don't but they dont even really do anything. 

like we're getting food benefits cut and cps will either do nothing or put you in foster care where you'll get abused worse than you did in your original house.

 we have ridiculous homeless populations and shit public school and shit government but we also have pretty consistent electricity and water and all that and MOST citizens are stable

so like it could be much worse and honestly i think it will get worse but like. don't say the us is perfect and everyone is so nice and we're so lucky and everyone is just a whiny privileged bitch and also don't say the us is the worst place you could possibly live and literal hell. 

it's just yk again as an american citizen it's hard to not be pissed about the state of the country considering how some european and asian countries are doing right now and we're apparently on the same level or better than them
