I hate celebrity culture

That's it. I reached that age where you don't care about celebrities anymore.

On social media, like Instagram, it seems like you HAVE to know the dress the celebrity wore in that particular occasion, if it was bad or if it was faboulous. You have to know if that celebrity's cancelled and why. You have to cry at the photos of that celebrity wedding.

The harsh truth is: celebrities are not your friends.

On the contrary, they will live all their life without even knowing about your existence, because they live in a completely different world from ours.

Yeah, they basically tried to shove down our throats the whole "celebrities are relatable and quirky just like us!" in the 2010s with all those interviews that seems spontaneus, with shows like "hot wings", jimmy fellon shows, those interviews made by drew barrymore, even the freaking lie detector for gods sake!
None of those interviews are real, let's be very clear about that. All of those "spontaneus" interviews are scripted. And the topics touched are pre arranged by their PR teams. There's a reason because that particular celebrity doesn't talk about this or that.

And don't get me started on the whole "that celebrities is cancelled because she/he said X,Y or Z" like why do you expect a celebrity to to have a deep understanding of politics, to hold an opinion that favors the poor, or... to care at all?? I mean these people are super privileged, they live in a world where only celebrities live, they hang out only with other celebrities and you're expecting them to save the world with their political view? That's nonsense. Not to mention that you're expecting this from an actor or a musician, like, it's not their job.

Another thing is that microtrends/fashion trends are all dictated by a bunch of people living in LA. So, recently it was the "clean girl aesthetic", but now a bunch of celebrities were seen smoking so I guess smoking is back in fashion I guess? A bunch of celebrities were seen wearing capri pants and short heeled flip flops so I guess I must add them to the shopping list? Because someone on the other side of the world who I'll never meet did?
It seems crazy to me!

This microtrend thing also applies to bodies. In 2016 we paused the diet culture era, and everyone suddently wanted to have a big ass, voluptuous curves and wear beige lipstick, then there was the pilates look and now skinny is back and it's worse than ever. How is it possible that we allow some person in LA to dictate how our body must look to be beautiful?

I don't know why people care about celebrities like they're their friends. Personally when I think about a celebrity I think about the fact that they'll never worry about paying rent, find a decent job, affording things. They have a team who covers all their needs, that buys them ticket planes, book the most amazing hotels ever, they probably live in LA and hang out only with other celebrities. They live a life that no one ""normal" is living. How can I relate to something like that?
Anyway, that's my thought about the topic. Lemme know what do you think!
