Okay, so I've been doing online school since 2020 (I think), so basically all my middle and highschool career. It has ruined my social life.
Doing school online has completely ruined my social skills, on top of that, having an IRL friends (from moving away and stuff). Now, I wasn't the most social person growing up because of how I was raised, so I won't blame it all on online schooling.. but it has a part in it.
I think it's just the comfortability of being able to go to school, but not actually have to interact with students and even teachers. Especially the school program I'm in that, if your grades are good, you don't have to go to your classes as long as you attend homeroom on Mondays.
And then there was this one program I was in (I've been in like.. a lot lol), and there was no class, no teachers or ANYTHING! they just assigned daily assignments and made you learn the materials on your own.
Also, the chances of actually learning the material is.. very slim, because you can just.. Google the answers.. without at least trying to understand it.
And sure, online schooling was great for when COVID first came out and was a way to make sure it wasn't spreading as much.. but it didn't really do much for the students in terms of making sure they actually understand water they're supposed to be learning instead of just turning on a computer.
Anyways this is getting kinda long now and I'm getting off topic..
I won't say that online schooling is bad, because it may be good for others, but it wasn't really good for me. Yes, I learned and paid attention in my classes, but I didn't really get that.. highschool social life, y'know?
