I hate when people’s only political take is Fuck ice or fuck trump

It pisses me off when someone’s only political take is fuck ICE or Fuck trump. I mean yeah I agree with you but treating them as a complete political opinion completely misses the point of actual discourse.

Reducing complex, systemic issues to a simple, repetitive slogans does more harm than good to the very causes people claim to care about. Slogans are fine for protest signs, but they shouldn't be the height of your political knowledge. This is for many reasons.

1. It Ignores the "Why": Saying "X is bad" doesn't really explain why it’s bad, nor what specific policies are causing harm, or even how those systems actually operate. Without the details, it’s just noise, not a stance.

2. It Offers No Solutions: Complaining about a figure or an agency doesn't build a better alternative. True political engagement requires asking: What comes next? What policy changes actually fix the root problem?

3. Most of y’all are saying it just to be performative: a lot of people repeat these phrases but not to create real change but prove to their TikTok friends that they’re on the "right side." It really just a performance rather than actual activism or critical thinking.

I mean, if you wanted to say that for protest signs then fine, but they shouldn't be the ceiling of your political knowledge. If you care enough to say it then you should care enough to understand the policy. How about we move past the surface-level takes and actually talk about the root of the problem.

I agree with this. Many people just repeat what they hear on the internet or media without actually understanding or knowing how the system and government actually works
