I guess I’m just ranting here but… I had an interesting Father’s Day since this was the first Father’s Day without my dad. My mom is in a home and has dementia.
Can’t see her due to lack of car and funds and it hurts so much. Every time I call the nursing home she’s sleeping or they have her at Group. How am I supposed to follow up with her?
I feel like a bad daughter. I mean, I know I’m not but it hurts.

That must be really difficult, but I'd say keep doing what you're doing! You're maximizing the chances of getting to talk with your mom in all the ways you can. Maybe you could also ask for a schedule from the people working at the nursing home so you can avoid calling during group time.
