I know this may sound very unhelpful so MB but you literally got this. It’s quite bold to confess feelings to someone, so the fact he already has asked twice should be enough reassurance that maybe it won’t be so bad to ask. You shouldn’t think of it as “why did I say no” but rather “this time I’ll make a move “
