I REALLY need to rant bro

Dude omg..so I wanna rant about the post 2018 bochum version of starlight express, well before I do I want to make clear that I am NOT a hater, I still adore this musical even now but I also wanna talk about the shitty changes!

So for people who havent heard of starlight express:Its a musical about trains on rollerskates from the 80s and its still running in bochum to this day.Well, in 2018 the original writers came together and reworked many things because it was the 30th anniversary and I am pretty mad about many of the changes.

1. Melody changes: WHY did they have to change some melodies up for example in the song "whistle at me" where pearls like "I want steam that is on fire blabla" like that whole section before the chorus..it gut CUT OUT.Like girl that part always gave me goosebumps.Or on the title track starlight express..WHY did they change the melody that played before the chorus oh my god I hate the new one.

And also when caboose introduces himself in the freight song..HE DOESNT SOUND INNOCENT ANYMORE BROO..and also..why did they cut out the part where he is like telling rusty that he isnt a real engine..cabooses whole character shift really annoys me.They also really busted the megamix.

2. Character design changes: Already made a blog on HOW MUCH I hate electras redesign..it grew on me but still..why in the world did Andrew lloyd goddamn webber have to change it??And also the caboose redesign, like look, he looks good but the fact that he doesnt look like the caboose everyone adores anymore is frustrating..and also the personality change he just isnt caboose anymore sorry..

3. Character changes: Okay I swear WHY did they have to remove purse and Krupp?Like lwky the MOST ICONIC components of electra??WHY.I am literally so sad bro I swear

4. GOOD THINGS they changed: THANK GOD that the rockies are back I couldnt stand the hip hoppers bro..they were just some white dudes dancing around acting cool😭😭💔

I also like how they changed poppa to momma or hoe they made volta being played by a male and just voltas whole characterdesign changed!I also like the song I am me!

I'll prolly do a whole stex appreciation post later hihi
