Ahh!
These last two semesters have been incredible. I took some amazing courses and I think I genuinely feel in love with one of the most awfully stressful, bonkers inaccessible courses I’ve ever taken: a third-year statistics course.
Being in that classroom felt like being a fork in a garbage disposal. My face apparently has subtitles and my classmates sometimes messaged me in the middle of class to prove they could see exactly when I had a big idea. Most of the time though it was to empathize with the very real struggle of paying the most attention our brains could handle while accurately receiving none of the material. I love university but goodness- they move far too fast.
I had a bajillion questions and so many of them were repetitive, to this day I’m still not even confident I understand all the variables presented to us but AHHHH! When it hit, it HIT you know? The best part was the 3 AM rants I would go on days after a lecture, finally understanding exactly how to translate these ideas to people. I know math is hard and by chance it is repetitive but it’s worth it I promise you.
Today though I enrolled in a Data Analytics course thanks to some supports from a local employment office. I get another chance at a deep dive into statistics!
I’m so happy! And yes, I did cry. You would cry over this opportunity too if you knew what it meant for my future, haha!
Feeling: Hopeful 💙💛
