This is something I've been debating on doing since the second semester on my first year. I'll be totally honest, going to college was a bit of an impulsive decision. I thought maybe I'll become a meteorologist for the national weather service or something of that nature, but I did very little research before committing to this idea which came to bite me in the ass later. When I actually did my research I was in the first semester of my first year, and the more I learned the more I realized that this career probably isn't for me. Another thing to note, my current university doesn't offer a specific meteorology major, I had to settle for earth and environmental sciences which I thought was no big deal but the degree requires biological science classes which I HATE. But I decided maybe I could still go for the degree and figure things out from there. But now Im in my second year and Im honestly starting to realize that I really don't know what I want to do for the rest of my life. Science is cool and all but I don't know if it's really my calling. The longer I hesitate to make a decision the more money I'm costing my family. I honestly would've dropped out already if it wasn't for my boyfriend, we've been living together in the same dorm room since first year and he really doesn't want me to drop/move out. That's honestly why I'm posting here instead of whining to my friends like I usually do, I don't know how to tell him without disappointing him/breaking his heart. I also have this looming sense of dread whenever I think about doing it, like I'm going to somehow ruin my life if I do this. But it feels like I can't stay here if I have no direction. I feel like I really didn't get to figure out who I was or who I wanted to be when I was younger due to a lot of factors. Hell, I didn't even think I would live to see the day that I "move out" of my parents house. Feel free to leave advice in the comments, just don't be rude or judgmental please.
