it's been so long!!!

hello!!!

I lowkey went m.i.a. for a while because life has been so crazy!!!!! I work retail, so it's been picking up and I've been so tired. PLUS! I've had to go help set up other stores who are remodeling, so that's been wearing me out AND throwing me off my routines >.< My sleep schedule has been all over the place and it has made my tolerance levels so much worse because my brain can't work as quickly.

Other than that, though, life has been kinda mid???? I got to hang out with a friend last weekend and that was so fun. We haven't seen each other in a few months because she's at school, but we ended up talking for like 6 hours about everything and it was so nice to just chat. We also started making plans for when we can meet up again, so that also made me happy. 

I also watched the Nintendo Direct for Zelda's 40th anniversary and the Ocarina of Time remake looks soooooooo goooooooooood!!!!1 I love how surreal and fantastical it looks!!I legit cried watching the short gameplay and the trailer. It looks the way it /felt/ to play for the first time as a kid. Obviously graphics quality has improved SO MUCH in the almost 30 years since it released, so I love how they went all out for the art style. The only thing I'm kinda "eh" about is the full voice acting, but that's just a me thing- I'm sure the voice actors did an amazing job, I just prefer fantasy games to not have it. Besides that relatively small thing, I am SO EXCITED!!!!! Sadly, I do not have switch 2 money, but I cannot wait to watch others play it. I'm not that upset that I don't get to play it myself though because my coordination with 3D cameras is garbage, lmao. I struggled playing the original as is, so I'm content to watch others play it. 

I am also so excited for the movie too!! I obviously have less thoughts about it right now because they're being vague about it, but I think it's going to be a prequel for the series overall. I think they're going to explain how the triforce came to be and maaayyybeeee try to tie all of the games into one semi-comprehensive timeline. IDK though!! It was just my initial thoughts and I can't wait to find out more about it AND watch it in theaters :P

I've been listening to some new music too!!!

    I've been a fan of NCT since about 2018, so I was super hyped for wayv and 127's new releases. I love the ethereal and traditional vibe that WayV had for this comeback, it reminded me a lot of the concept for phantom and I was so captivated by the music video. I wish they leaned more into full Mandarin just because it fit the concept better, but I also understand there are struggles of trying to modify lyrics from one language to another. I also REALLY appreciated that almost every song was over 3 minutes long!! It's so upsetting that songs are omitting bridges or breakdowns more and more because those are often my favorite parts. I think my favorites were "Count It" and "Heaven's Here With Me". Overall, it was such great quality which is exactly what I expected from WayV.

    As for 127's new album- HOLY NEO. I was so shocked how good it was. I knew it was going to still be good, but I was just interested as to /what/ it would sound like and I truly think they blew it out of the park. I think pivoting to a more rock-forward sound was the most neo thing they could have done after doing super electronic music for almost 10 years. It was unexpected and new, aka neo. I also loved how much Johnny and Yuta got to shine. I was a m*ark bias since I started stanning them(I also dropped his racist ass), so I really saw him as an essential part of their sound, but I have LOVED how Johnny sounds since his verse in "Misfit". You can tell he trained with EXO because he has that kinda old school sound and it is so addictive. As for Yuta though... holy shit. I already knew he was a great singer, but we never really got to hear him with the other members of 127. He completely blew me out of the water with his vocals though. I think that "IKR" ended up being my favorite overall just because it felt the most familiar to my neo-attuned ears, lmao. I think the pivot in sound was exactly what they needed in this era though. It's been 10 years AND two members are in military service right now, so it really made them stand out.

    Tuide has also been on my radar! I loved their predebut release "Girls", so I was looking forward to their actual debut. They truly surprised me with "Sun Kiss" though. I love the bosa nova sound and the choreography is so flowy and looks effortless. The girls seem so sweet too, I hate how young they are, but I hope they are treated well by their company and the public I have also deemed all the members as my nieces because I feel so protective of them and they're just kids >.< (I obviously don't mean this literally, btw. I just like to call younger groups I like my nieces/nephews, lmao)

    I have also been listening to more KiiKii as well. I will reluctantly admit that I still don't really like 404 that much. Don't get me wrong, it's a great song and I love that they are doing well, I just find the contrast between their styling and their concept a little... jarring??? Like, they have very cutesy styling and makeup, so that song specifically being kinda cunty makes me feel weird. I had similar feelings with Yena's recent song too. Something about the almost sexy-cute concept makes me feel gross. That aside, I like their other music!!!! I heard "Pop Off Pop Off" in some reels and it is such an earworm. I ended up just listening to their stuff while working and I thoroughly enjoyed their sound. I like how colorful everything felt. I didn't really keep up with the song titles, so I couldn't tell you my favorite, but I had quite a nice time listening to them. 

I think that's all I've been up to, tbh. Just been kinda everywhere, but hopefully I get back in the swing of things.
