I went to the mall in Florida today but I didn’t get anything out of it. I went to the American girl store for the first time and fell in love with a doll that looked just like me. I asked my grandmother and my mother if we could split the cost. They both said no because it wouldn’t be fair if I got one and my sister didn’t. I could understand this, but the thing is my sister is getting A FULL TRIP TO DISNEY WORLD the very next day. The trip isn’t for me, I’m probably not gonna get anything from Disney world. So how home they’re willing to spend thousands on my sister but not 100 dollars on a doll for me. They keep saying “oh we’ll order it later” but I know that they most likely won’t. On top of that, I also cannot go to my favorite restaurant either cause they don’t want to pay for it cause they’d rather spend the money on Disney.
My sister is 4. She won’t ever remember Disney after this summer. I am 10 years older than my sister. Any clothes or toys she gets this year she’s going to outgrow in the coming years. I don’t think that my sister is the favorite, but I do think that they care about me less. I’m trying not to cry and think on the bright side that “at least I have more money for back to school shopping.” But I’m still deeply upset.
For context: yes, they took me to Florida just for me the first two weeks, but it wasn’t for fun. It was for a school program. It was hardly a “vaccination” cause I was actively working on my school projects. My sister gets an entire trip to Disney for fun. It’s not her birthday, it’s not even a holiday. Just because. But I can’t get a doll???
