I speak 3 languages and I should probably polish these but instead I'm going to learn a new language, I choose French.
This is my advice if you are learning a new language:
- They recommend you to watch movies in the language you're trying to learn with subtitles so you can understand, but you end focusing on the story more than learning so I wouldn't recommend doing that. Instead watch cartoons for little kids in the language you're trying to learn, it's better because the episodes are short , you can find it in YouTube, and it has a simple language so you can learn better.
- Learn themed vocabulary. It's easier if you focus in learning food vocabulary, or traveling vocabulary etc instead of trying to learn new random vocabulary words at once.
- Read simple texts. With the time you'll see you're able to recognise more words.
- Change your social media algorithm. Instead of doom scrolling without purpose, search a few things in your target language so you start getting recommended content in that language.
- And finally don't see language learning as a task or a chore or you'll loose motivation, try to implement it in your daily life. Like if you're making coffee, suddenly say "Je prépare du café." , if you know how something is called in the language you're learning say the name in that language. Consume content you love in your target language or try meet native people online
I have no advice for grammar god I hate grammar as you can see I'm sorry...![]()
Ofc I'm not a pro at learning languages but I did find these really helpful, tell me if you got some advice for me! It'd be really helpful![]()
