I've decided to make the habit of reading a couple of chapters each morning. This week, I'm reading Jack Kerouac's On the Road. He has a pretty unique style of writing, one I'm warming up to. I did a little research on him (by that, I mean a quick Google search) and his prose takes inspiration from Jazz. He was part of the Beat generation, I read.
In any case, I made it to chapter 5 and that's where I'll leave it before I end up reading the whole thing in one go. He's traveling up to Denver, hoping to meet up with his gang of friends of which he finds utterly fascinating.
I like the moments of connection he has with the strangers he meets along the way. The people he gets to know, the people he wishes he could know. Not to mention the way he describes the landscape.
Where I left off, he finally managed to make it to Denver, his destination. I wonder where it'll go from here.
