Not really, it starts off with replying on their blogposts and actually participating also on forum posts as well.
But much better if you keep that even if you're friends already.
That's how I do it.
GOAT
> post stuff
> get comments
> share memes
> rinse, repeat

kinda, but also by commenting on blogs, in forums and replying to bulletins the people make (the ones you have as friends)
