I know it sounds like a dream. I've been there when I was 13. And look, when you're a teenager with no responsibilities apart from school, it is really dreamy.
However, it's not the case in adult life 🥲 I've lived by myself for almost 2 years now, in another city hundreds of kms away from my family. Conceptually, I love it. I love uni, the freedom and the possibilities. But those fun little things everyone thinks of, like showering with music on and making a sandwich at 3am are not worth the long-term sense of boredom or even loneliness.
Going home in the evening after a long day and seeing an empty house is... Anticlimactic. Having to clean everything by yourself and check the door lock/stove before sleeping is tiring. Occasionally paranoia gets to me at night, instead of letting me sleep, despite knowing I have peaceful neighbors.
No matter how much I socialize in uni or go out with my friends, living alone makes it feel underwhelming.
To be fair, I wouldn't move in with my parents again. That's another genre or tiring. I tried to move out in the summer with one of my mom's colleague's daughter. The girl was on the asocial, shy side so I thought it'd be good for me to live with someone that requires a low social battery as an introvert myself. Girly ended up moving with her bf instead bruh 🥲
... And oh yeah, rent also costs a shit ton of money.

Yeah. Some may not like staying home alone.
