Honestly, it’s been a while since I last read a book, whether a physical copy (with or without illustrations), a PDF, or anything else. On top of that, I’m feeling increasingly bored with each passing day, and there’s truly nothing better than good literature. I don’t stick to any one specific literary genre; I read a bit of everything. I’ve even read dictionaries and medical textbooks just to satisfy my urge to read something! I’m curious if any of you can relate—and, more importantly, what is your favorite book? Personally, I’d say my favorite is one called "The Man on the Ceiling." I’m also open to recommendations: comics, manga, or even a cookbook, I’m always up for reading something new.

For me, personally, I read a lot of fictional books - whether fantasy, science fiction, or even "short story compilation" books. But I also REALLY like informational texts as well as people who've thought a lot on certain subjects and their opinions on it, which I think you could call those books "opinion pieces."
Astronomy (the scientific subject, not astrology) is one of my favorite informative stuff since it's also basically what the future of humankind depends on in my opinion, so thus that's what I like to learn about the most.

Anyways, book recommendations!

Fantasy:

  • "Terminate the Other World" (First book "Arrival" out of 5. LitRPG but also a "Portal Fantasy" AKA they get transferred to another world, author's pen name & self-published name is Icalos, on Amazon for Kindle and Paperback, as well as a "STUB" aka read the first few pages on the site "RoyalRoad")
  • "The Shattered Sovereign" (I'm pretty sure the 4th book is still being written. First book is named "Dirtborn." On Amazon, and I'm sure the 4th book is being published free to read chapter-by-chapter on RoyalRoad. Author is E. Patrick Lacerna)

Science Fiction:

  • "Project Hail Mary" is a must, by Andy Weir. The book itself is very informational, far more than the movie, and also has quite a few chapters-worth of text that didn't make it into the movie + a segment or 2 of the actual story. I'd HIGHLY recommend, even if you saw the movie.
  • Even though you'd have to do some IMMENSE reading on the website from the year 2000, I'd highly recommend checking out the 2 "short story compilation" books as part of the realitybuilding project called the "Orions Arm Universe Project." It gets VERY confusing, however. Use the site as your guide if you read the 2 books, but I'd also recommend checking out the site beforehand as well. Very 2000s-styld as it was founded in the year 2000. You can find their books on the site as well as Amazon as far as I know. Also, be aware the site is currently down due to the global PHP/web infrastructure security vulnerability until the site is updated as well as billions of other sites worldwide. You aren't at risk, but every site in the world is until the website owner's patch it. So, go to it in like a week or so when it's patched if you want to look at it.

I hope you like my recommendations! :D (I couldn't think of many, as i only woke up like 2 hours ago and this is also my first message ANYWHERE on this site, so yeah. Oof.)
