Long-buried Memory

Something nostalgic happened to me today! When I was an ESL teacher, I had a Korean student (grown-up, older than me) who enjoyed yelling my full name when he walked up the stairs to my classroom like an excited kid! 😂 That's how I knew he was coming to my class. So noisy! 😁

Today, someone at work yelled my name (it was just Marie because that's my nickname here). This time, I was the one who got excited because it's been about 11 years since someone did that to me! 😅

It wasn't an angry yell. To me, it felt like my presence was acknowledged. It's not that I need acknowledgment and if you know me, I loathe being the center of attention. I try to stay hidden by being quiet all the time but that simple yelling of my name brought up a long-buried memory and made me reminisce about the past. 😻 I love it!

Wow, that's a really nice story.

I'm glad to hear that.

Appreciating simple things like that is what I don't see many really do.

Have a nice day. :)

I appreciate simple things a lot. I'm also always grateful for simple moments.

Have a nice day too!

It is nice to remember that good things happened in the past. This memory must have comforted you. I am 32 now and also have memories as such as i am planning to move away and I remember what I experienced in my hometown when i was young.

It was a fun memory.

Moving away must be difficult. I honestly couldn't believe leaving my hometown as well. It was hard at first. I hope you'll like your new place.
