Looking back at the KamTape/DH situation

I remember that one time when Deep Humor made a video on KamTape (a 2007-era YouTube revival), and it was titled "Old YouTube is Back". Now, whenever a big youtuber makes a video on a minor website that's related to YouTube in some way, there'll be an instant flow of new users, and eventually these wil make the website crash. Like when BitView was flooded with underage users, or when LarpTube had a sudden outage. And for KamTape, it was no difference. The website became a lot slower (I've seen someone joke that it became just like YouTube in the era they're emulating), and at some point there were more than 200 VIDEOS on the same queue. I remember tring to upload my videos there, and it'd take a WHOLE HOUR just for them to appear on my channel. Not that I'm a new user, as I originally joined in January 28th 2026. Regarding their Discord server, I haven't been there (as it's not a thing I use), but seeing the screenshots, it was like very chaotic, with several people typing at the same time. Plus, new videos would be uploaded to the website every five seconds. But yea, it has stabilized now, so if the way the community is heading to is not altered forever, maybe that'll be for a while. Later I've also seen DH admitted on a livestream that they crashed KamTape, which that proves he'd actually acknowledged the effect he made on the community as a whole. I remember also seeing Cloudflare errors when trying to get to the frontpage or other sections, Sometimes it'd be Error 524, maybe also error 522. Anyway, it was real chaotic watching this all unfold in real time while just trying to upload something.
