[Looking for Advice] Finding IRL friends with similar interests is so hard

I want to find friends near me who are into homestuck and deltarune and roblox and stuff like that but it feels impossible. Back in 2020 I had this big friend group at school that got me into this minecraft series they all liked and it was sooo fun making references and talking about the newest updates and making memes abt it and everything. That friend group was genuinely one of the highlights of my life I still have videos of us hanging out together and I look back on that time so fondly.
I left that school in 2022 due to mental health shit and lost that friendgroup with it, and I met some new really cool people in 2025 online but that friendgroup barely lasted a year. My only irl friend is someone who doesn't really share my interests, and, no shade I love her, but ever since she got together with this guy, he's all she talks about. 

I miss having a big irl friend group like that. I wanna go to conventions with people and make those silly cosplay vlogs that look like so much fun. But all the people at my school are basic ass bigots who'd shove me in a locker if they knew who I was and what I was into. It doesn't help that I'm in a pretty rural area, but I'm moving to the big city soon enough, should I just wait until I'm there? I don't know if I can take another year of being alone. 
Anyone got any tips for making friends with similar interests near me?
