Looking for Friends

Hey everyone, welcome back to my corner of the internet!
If you’re new here, let me give you the quick rundown: I’m sixteen, I have a massive soft spot for wing-tipped eyeliner, and my room looks like a vintage thrift store exploded in it. But there is one absolute icon who rules my world, my walls, and my wardrobe.
I am completely, 100 percent obsessed with Betty Boop.
Yes, you read that right. The animated queen of the 1930s. While everyone else my age is obsessing over the latest TikTok trends or fast-fashion drops, I’m over here hunting down vintage Betty tees, collecting retro figurines, and unironically saying boop-oop-a-doop.
Honestly, what’s not to love? Betty is the blueprint. She’s bold, she’s fiercely independent, and she’s stayed iconic for nearly a century. In a world where everything feels a bit copy-and-paste, her confidence and old-school charm just speak to me.
But I’m going to be real with you guys for a second. Having a niche, retro obsession in high school can get a little lonely.
Most days, I feel like I’m living on a totally different frequency than the people around me. When my classmates talk about current pop culture, I’m nodding along, but secretly wishing someone wanted to stay up late watching classic black-and-white animation or thrifting for old vinyl records with me. It’s hard to find your people when your main hobby predates your grandparents.
So, I’m putting a signal flare out into the universe.
I’m looking for my crew. I want to find friends who get the appeal of the retro aesthetic—whether you love Betty Boop, vintage fashion, classic movies, or just appreciate being unapologetically unique. You don't have to be an expert on the 1930s; you just have to be someone who loves deep-diving into cool, old-school subcultures and doesn't mind a friend who wears bright red lipstick on a casual Tuesday.
Imagine the weekend plans: hitting up every flea market within a fifty-mile radius, listening to old jazz on a record player, taking vintage-style Polaroid photos, and just having a space where we can be our weird, wonderful selves without anyone judging.
If you’ve ever felt like you were born in the wrong decade, or if you just want a fiercely loyal, vintage-obsessed friend to grab iced coffee with, drop a comment below or slide into my DMs! Let’s build our own little community.
Until next time, stay iconic. - ˙⋆✮⋆˚࿔Betty ˙⋆✮⋆˚࿔
