love letters

I write you love letters,
unable to bear the silence that floods your absence.

My mind never turns off
When it comes to the subject of you.
My heart whispers your name throughout the night.
My heart bleeds out on the page dedicated to you.

Every inch of my body yearns for you.
My eyes flutter, and my mouth waters at the sight of you.
My heart races, and my knees buckle.

My hands beg to reach out—
to trace, to worship the body I so desperately crave.

But since my hands do not get to feel you,
touch you, love you,
I use them to write you.

And I will, every day,
until my needs and hunger are subdued.
