At 2 a.m. on October 2, 2026, after watching a YouTube video about the Semana de Arte Moderna of 1922, I stopped to reflect on my love for Brazilian culture and my experiences. Then, memories of hanging out with my friends came to mind, memories that tug at my heartstrings, in a mix of painful longing and gratitude for having lived them.
I recalled a night in March of this year when my friends, Estevan and Adrian, and I climbed a hill in the countryside of Ivatuba, in the interior of Paraná state; we sat beneath a tree and lit a bonfire to smoke weed.
My life is filled with magical memories like that — memories that ache when they remind me that the past cannot be relived.

Life is like a crumpled ball of paper.
Little by little, we slowly unfold it, aiming for a perfect sheet of paper. Until the day we manage to smooth it out completely and realize the beauty of every scar on that flattened sheet, revealing a simple love letter.
I feel a strong urge to crumple it up again, just for the pleasure of doing it all over. But it is impossible. Now, we must surrender it to its true owner, the Mother Goddess, with no guarantee of its return.
She takes it for herself. Perhaps, one day, she will give it back. Perhaps she will make a beautiful origami.
(I don't know if this translation is good, but deal with it.)
