million mistakes (poem)

hey guys! another little poem about how i feel like we collectively forget that mistakes can happen and how we never leave any room for anyone to improve.

(based of a lot of different baseless drama i've seen throughout my time on the internet)

TW!! (mention of suicide)

it's a thin wire,

a long road.

we tread steadily,

careful not to fall,

for there's a mob below.

they're itching to impale.

think before you act,

don't act before you think,

humans are flawed, yet

flaws are inhuman

mistakes are never made.

staring at the sun,

the millennia going by.

in the last year alone,

just how many have died?

trapped by a word,

in a world of hurt.

one.

two.

three. becomes a million.

the days turn to grey.

the sun is now hiding away,

and it's too late.

they've rallied the troops,

seven, eight years?

pathy, wow, now that's a tragedy,

now i'll act like there's no apology,

also, therapy's not a word,

don't mess up at 16

it'll ruin your whole world.

in the age of media,

there's no way to get by,

forget accountability,

unread, "you're lying!", goodbye!

2006

2007

and as the years go by,

soon you're 36,

2026,

hear one last ping.

a million and one.

"maybe it's time to keys."
