my cousin being annoying as freak

i actually can not with my family. so my whole family is very.. i wouldnt say maga but close to it. they love ice, hate abortion, homophobic, transphobic, stuff like that. so (not trying to be mean) but they are very basic, and one day i had black on my braces. really cause i like black, but it makes your teeth look whiter, and it goes with everything. so i was in the back of the car and my cousin who is 18 is driving me to school, and she says "what color are your braces?" so i say "oh theyre just black!" and she starts laughing and calling me emo and stuff. while im just sitting there like "what is going through your mind". because why does everyone associate black with "emo" or "being depressed". so then like a couple months later im talking to my other cousin in the back seat and im like "yeah ive really been into candels and like picture frames recently". yes i know that might sound a little strange at first but i just really like to decorate my room. so my older cousin turns around and says "no offence but thats really weird". like um i oddly took offence to that. like why would you even say that.
