my first hs/uni party experience

tldr dont go to an actual club for a party if ur single or have bad social skills 

Yesterday I went to a club for a Halloween party with my friends. I didn't have a great time, but it wasn't that bad either. I think going to a party is something that's more fun if you're sociable enough to meet people there, have a partner, or be in a large and loud friend group. My group was especially keen on finding new friends and dancing, which I wouldn't mind, except im too socially awkward actually to have a conversation with someone. When i dance i kinda look like an idiot cuz I didn't know more than half of the songs the dj put. So the whole time I kinda just stuck onto them and watched them talk to people. 

Here's the highlight of yesterday 

met like 20 people making out intensely 

met my ex from 4 years ago 

GOT HEAD PATTED BY MY EX??? (I TOLD HIM I HAD A BOYFRIEND BEFOREHAND)

Literally almost suffocated in the crowd 

Lost my jacket and umbrella 

My friend took 6 shots

Someone blew their nasty vape smoke on my face

I got the insta and made friends with ONLY ONE PERSON IN THE WHOLE PARTY

Had to be asked every minute by my friends if i was "okay" 

im an emo kid so i looked extremely out of place

My voice is not capable of being loud so no one heard me 

worst part is no one noticed that my dyed red hair was my real hair cuz they all assumed it was a wig...

Now im not dismissing the experience as boring or shitty, cuz i think it couldve been fun; it's just something that I can't handle because of how overwhelming the party was for someone like me 

Don't let my experiences hamper your plans on going to a party for the first time, though! i do think that its something thats encouraged to experience at least once so im still glad i went to the party yesterday :)
