MY HEAD

I work as a scare actor at a mid-city farm for the October season and last year I got stuck in THE worst room in my house.

I work in the manor themed house so every room is a different part of a house designed to be horror-ish. Most rooms in manor are normal rooms with prop dead guys, and (mostly) prop mold, and flashing lights, but in MY ROOM the designers thought it would be cool to screw all the furniture INTO THE WALLS to make it look like its floating.

I am in the dining room! I don't know if you've ever seen a normal dining room but all the furniture has long legs that aren't attached to the main body. Also, there's no good hiding spots in my room!

Essentially, in my two years working for this company I've only been able to get real scares in two places in the room. Climbing on the table (comfortable but unstable. If it falls I fall too.), or under the furniture (less effective but fine.)

The current issue is: last night while trying to get back to my usual spot (table) I had to stop halfway and do my other thing (under furniture) and DURING my scare I stumbled forward and smacked my head into the leg of a floating chair. This is not the first time this has happened to me but usually I can keep up the scare and ignore the impact to my skull. NOT THIS TIME! This time was especially hard and the jumpscare ended up being a loud crack followed by "ow fuck" which I am not allowed to say because my worksite is child friendly for 6/7 operating days.

My head hurts and I have work again tonight.

it must be super fucking fun being a scare actor. I plan to get a job as one at some point, and I'm gonna rip a bunch of pages out of a water damaged copy of house of leaves I have to give to random ppl.

It's a really good time!
