My mother.. a vent ig?

So today’s my mother’s birthday she’s currently out rn getting coffee. My stepdad woke me up saying my mother was very mad and upset. I had planned on getting up early and making her a cake and setting up stuff for her but my alarm clock is a million years old and hates me so it didn’t go off. So I’m rushing to set stuff up she’s crying and shit and she says “just forget it, forget my birthday it’s like any other day” and she says she doesn’t want me to bake her a cake..should I still bake her a cake? My stepdad’s anxiety is through the roof he’s freaking out so he’s no help. So yea ig that’s a vent…
