As one of the many people who migrated away from SpaceHey over to here, I'm quite tired of the shenanigans that was happening over on SPH. The constant debating over SpaceHey's safety features and profile images being all broken, the Napoleonite drama... Very tiring.
But it also made me realize just what percent of the internet I really find rude. Don't get me wrong, there are many kind souls waiting to be found, and lots of cooler things, and it's no big deal just to block and filter out all the bad apples!
But there is also so many people being unnecessarily rude, which poisons the well on both side of the argument. I understand that SpaceHey is a sacred site for some, and literally a home some people cannot afford to lose (really, I was in that position too!), but you tend to turn people away from a community that you complain about being dead, when you openly shut down and chase away people considering hopping to an alternative site over the original site's problem. Dismissing the Napoleonite people, like "Bye bye napo user! I'm never switching" is so unbelievably rude, it does the opposite of making me want to revive SpaceHey as you so wish, and just pushes me away faster.
I can argue that Napoleonite's execution and handling has been VERY sloppy (with a lot of public exposees being on SpaceHey's top blogs -- good PSAs but also drowns out the cool stuff), from the Goat thing, to what I feel is a community with a handful of people I would never want to interact with. So, I decided to leave Napoleonite and come here. I don't hate anybody in moderation and hold no ill will against anybody there; they certainly have their goals and I'm nobody to take that away from them.
But it also just wasn't the kind of site I wanted to be a part of. Goat's way of branding it poisoned the image it had in SpaceHey, SpaceHey users became hostile and rude to Napoleonite in return, and both sides are not sides I can really pick. They're two types of evils essentially, and it's really just a debate of who is the lesser evil at this rate.
I will give a lot of credit to some specific Napoleonite users for being very open and patient with the kind of waves and people I've been seeing; some of you guys have handed this really well. Good job!
I don't know... SpaceHey is falling down the rabbit hole. Napoleonite ended up just not being the place for me, though I'm happy for all the people who have switched over in a rush, I hope you guys are having fun over there!

as someone who was literally part of the reason napo is a thing the discourse is so fucking stupid.
goat and doc never shoulda launched the site in beta, nor should they have been spamming their promo to the top (ive said it so many times before but spacehey users never wanna hear it). it lead to so much shit involving both platforms that could have easily been avoided, and the only real good that came out of any of it is that so many users on spacehey stopped trying to pretend to be "better" than whoever they deemed the other side-- some of them sided with neonazis and legit cyberstalked and threatened to doxx people over this shit.
i obviously think that napo's side of things has had its own damage done in the discourse as well, mainly the harassment of certain users who simply didnt like the site or were thought to be people they werent. there's also issues with two of the former moderators going rogue (one of which spreading misinfo about the site's staff and users).
the problem is a lotta the spacehey users "criticizing" napo (read: hating, but making sure they look soooo much better than you for doing it) is that they dont actually care about whether or not anything they say is accurate, they care about making themselves look better. i explained that goat is the one who spammed post after post about the napo discourse from a few weeks back to the top and i got jumped for it by the same person, MULTIPLE TIMES, saying that i was wrong. i had leagues of proof i wasnt, but the person didnt care. when goat was demoted and banned, the FIRST THING i saw someone do is take it as a free opportunity to start spreading misinformation about the situation, and the only reason she didnt continue is because i immediately told her it was wrong (both under the comment she left on my page and her blog about it). the worst part is some of them are starting to do the same shit to FRW with nitpicking stuff they dont like about the site and claiming its ai, and probably more later down the line.
TL/DR the discourse is stupid. spacehey users only ever want to address the issues with spacehey when it makes them look better, and napo's team had too many loose cannons running the site. the good news is no one's trying to bring the discourse here (the one guy who tried was goat, who tried to sweep his shit under the rug and blame literally everyone else lol)

its not too bad at napo if you ignore all the drama and block the bad people tbh, but it doenst have as much as friendrewind so i spend more time here. honestly, good speech, you deserve two kudos
that's fair, thank you!! it is pretty incomplete in its current state but i was going into it expecting there to be no parity, considering it was pretty brand new made.
the thing was a few people i wanted to block were frequently on the top blogs, so i didn't know if that said something about me, or if it was just a sign maybe i wasn't going to fit in... i took the easy way out and just came here

The thing about blocking those on top blogs is 100% relatable. It's the same people constantly posting about drama or that one loser on like 4 different sites and that guy constantly bots anything mentioning him to the top. I just gave up and blocked the main folk + deleted my account on there. I was tired of seeing it all
