ANYWAYS - I kinda give the movie like a 7.6/10 LET ME EXPLAIN

❀˖°

Sooo I did really like the CGI + Practical effects mostly with the cyclopes since I've never seen a cyclopes drawn or depicted like that before so it was refreshing and the scene where Circes is turning the men into pigs, it was actually so cool to watch since it shows a transformation instead of the men just poofing into piggies. I also liked all the scene on the ship since I think it was actually shot in the water so it felt super real and I like how the movie expanded on the real life aspects of the stuff that happen in the movie with scenes like explaining what happened inside the Trojan horse and how they were all squished and stacked on top of each other. I also liked how they spent time going back to troy over and over again instead of moving on. I also love all the actors even though I feel like they spent more of famous faces than sticking to the original story... But I thought Anne Hathaway was as beautiful and amazing as she always is and I love how Robert Pattinson portrayed Antinous as such a pathetic coward which I don't think is shown much in other versions so that was kinda refreshing. I also liked how they did Hades as a voided plain and I love the concept of the dead being summoned from the ground instead of just being ghosts (that scene was really well done) I just expected the way to to get to Hades was just more, since it is the underworld and like underground conceptually so I thought it would be more treacherous instead of being like the Valinor Undying lands from The Lord of the Rings.

Onto the things I didn't like... There was no Hermes at all, No molly to keep Ody from scumming to Circe's spell (which I guess wasn't necessary since Ody didn't eat her food), The cyclopes never spoke to Ody to try and make an agreement so Ody never told him his name was Nobody, There was no Wind God or wind bag in sight which also means we never got the ultimate betrayal by Eurylochus, Charybdis was way to early, Scylla wasn't as scary as I thought she would be nor did she have the impact I thought she would, there was no mutiny, and last THERE WAS NO OLIVE TREE WEDDING BED. I feel like I didn't see the relationship and emotions from those relationships as much as I would like have though that could also be because of Epic the Musical. I also wish Ody saw his mom to really emphasize his despair and realization of truly how much time has passed and how much of home he was already loosing. Also what was up with the big guys in white armor on the island before Circe's? that was not lotus people Idk where they even came from.

Anyways that's all I can thing of right now and though I know this was their own depiction and interoperation/version of the Odyssey - which with what they have it is good and it was a very good movie - I just couldn't get over what they missed/glossed over.

Kudos: 2
