New Job! 🥳

Yoooo, first blog post up on here! I thought I might wanna post at least one thing on here since I'm on the site. Let me give y'all a bit of context before I get into the story.

Aight so boom, I've been living in LA for almost two years now. I am a college student and obviously that means I need money for things like laundry and food and sometimes even  things for school. What I would have to do for money is wait for my school to send out stipends from financial aid or for my parents to send me money or food whenever they can.

For as long as I've been out here, I have been on the hunt for a job, and when I say HUNT, I mean it. I have interviewed for almost every place that was walking distance of where I live, I do laps around the area looking into shop windows for a 'we're hiring' or a 'help needed' sign. So I was really on my grind.

I almost got a job at this cafe near me but they were so disorganized just in terms of the hiring process so I gave that up. Then I interviewed at this pizza hut that's a little further away, I thought I did good, but then I didn't hear back. I applied to these two shops right on my street but they never ever got back to me. I even had an interview at a Burlington but it turns out, despite all the signs saying they're hiring, they don't be hiring nobody.

But about two months ago, this vintage clothing store nearby posted on instagram that they were hiring and to drop off resumes at the store. So naturally, the opportunist that I am, I took my resume over there and just waited. Now after those months had passed I figured they didn't fuck wit ya boy. Then about two weeks ago I'm in class and my phone is vibrating like crazy and somebody is tryna call me. But class was a little bit busy so I just waited until I got back to my dorm to call back.

Once I got back to my dorm I was naturally curious about who tried to call me four times, so I hit em with the call back and it was the vintage clothing store I dropped my resume off at, and that's how they got my number. So I was like ohhh shnap they want an interview with me, this might be goated. So I went to the interview and I would say it went pretty well, especially because I got the call back and they confirmed my training! :D

So basically, I got my first job in LA and I like it pretty well and it's super fun and easy so far, my coworkers are nice and it's close by so I don't have to worry about traveling too much. I had my first day yesterday and it went real smooth and I have work again next week and I'm really enjoying it.

I don't know how to conclude this, but I'll make an attempt at being inspirational: Don't stop chasing after what you want. It may seem like opportunities slip past you, but the right one will slip and fall right into your hands. ;)

Keep your head up!
