New jobs are scary |Blog #6|

I recently started my first job in around 3 months? At this fancy ass restaurant in my city. I’m a foodeunner there so all I have to do in terms of FOH is just give guests their dishes and explain a little bit about them if the server isn’t there.

It’s so much harder than it sounds like for me though. Some tables trip me up with the positions and some tables are just wacky and don’t exist and that trips me up too. I always feel this kind of pressure from the head Chef to be perfect but it’s barely my first week there. And I’ve only worked on the heavy days like Saturday and Friday.

I just wanted to know if I was exaggerating or if it really is a lot of pressure to work as a food runner?? I’m ranting and losing the point. The pay is good though I got an average of 23 an hour after tips which is soooo dam goood😎😎:star:

The chef didn’t even want me there after the interview but somehow he gave me a chance and everyone there said that they liked how I work so that’s how I got the job :D

I really am trying to learn though, not just the tables but also how to talk to people because currently I suck at that. In terms of talking to strangers I could not get any worse so I also need help for that so it’s all so damn overwhelming.

That’s all I have to say for now thank you for reading this far toodles!
