an extremely short piece because i realized i had never written giovanni's pov before
John-John. Oh, John-John. Oh Magnus, oh Cecil!
Sighing, Giovanni taps his desk. Time drags on. Someone talks to him, then someone else, then someone else. People meld into a single form, one and the same. Same face, same voice, same thing. His skull pounds.
No one is as fascinating as John-John.
He had always known the man was special, but he didn’t realize just how fascinating he was until he hired him. Two people in one. They’ve always been the same body, same person, but they’re two brains with two personalities and two ways of living. Giovanni wants nothing more than to understand them. He can’t think. How do they live? Who does what? What do they like? He can’t be anything but fascinated.
The door thuds shut and the lock clicks after it. Giovanni sinks into his couch.
Sometimes he wonders if this is what his grandfather really was like. Perhaps he also sat in this office, brought to his metaphorical knees by a man too strange not to be attracted to. Certainly, though, Dr. Green was never as utterly, debilitatingly fascinating as his son. John-John just has more. He’s more interesting, more complicated, more striking—
Oh, oh! Oh John-John!
