"Not only we can speak, not only we have thirst..." (09/28/2026)

...got $100 today. The Alberta government's doing some energy rebate thing. Hell if I know, my parents were screaming at both each other & me during the whole process. The prospect of free money makes some people lose their cool, I guess. Me personally, I'm willing to accept free money from the government, as long as it means that I don't have to vote in favor of separating from Canada. This province sure loves shooting itself in the foot.

...either way, that money's probably going to be blown on records. Just bought one, in fact: "Kid Marine" by Robert Pollard. Snagged it on Discogs for $38 including shipping. Were I to buy it direct from Rockathon (Bob's label) they would've absolutely gouged the hell out of me on shipping. It was like $70 USD. Tariffs are hitting us & them hard.

...the next two weeks of my life are probably going to be eaten up by university. Oh, joy. Something to look forward to, at last. Posting will still continue, though, so don't worry!

...speaking about separatism, I'm still baffled as to why so many people, especially the people around me, seem to think it's a great idea. It's just stupid. Why are we acting like we're not dependent on other provinces/countries and that we have the resources to support ourselves on our own? We don't! Nobody my age can get a job, either, so good luck counting on the young people.

...now listening: "Standard Gargoyle Decisions", also by Robert Pollard. Bob, in a traditionally Bob thing to do, released two albums in one day in 2007 (think that's wild? 2006 was even more hectic). This is the weird one. More of a rocker than its companion piece, "Coast to Coast Carpet of Love". It's also much more prone to left-turns and abstract imagery, coupled with suitably oddball production from Todd Tobias, the mastermind behind Circus Devils.
