"OCTOBER MADE ME DO IT"

Friends and coworkers that don't share the same affinity for Scary movies and Halloween events always ask " why do you like those things so much??" 

I've always knew I did, the aesthetic, the rush of the adrenaline from the fear, and well being a kid forever. I was born in October, so i couldn't wait for it come naturally. My birthday that brought gifts, cake and, outings just for me. My birthday wasnt the only thing that was worth waiting in October and that's  Halloween! Trick or treating, Costumes, scares and scary masks. Candy and staying out late with cousins friends and everyone else late at night roaming the street lit neighborhoods. That Nostalgia will forever stay with me til my last breath. It may very well be my Paradise when i cross over.

Not just the nostalgia fueled the love, but Horror movies came 

my memory in that was with my aunt, my aut baby sat me while both my parents worked.

she took me to the local Movie Theater, im from a small town in Arizona so wasnt no Harkins theater or AMC. Small local theater that i remember was a blast in those 80s 90s haydays . The Arcade across the Cinema, the courtyard like area where teens and pre teens hung out. I, a 4/5 years old kid was happy to just be out of my house that my aunt babysat me at. Also getting candy! and soda with popcorn, ah i was so happy and distracted that i didn't care what we were watching and wellll that was the problem....

Sitting down with my popcorn and candy munching lol the Theater was full and it felt exciting to gather with people anxiously waiiting, for what ? well that I didnt't know. 

All of a sudden the theater got dark and cold and everyone got quiet, Movie starts and started in a mideast farm town where the fall was recognizable by color. what started calm and steady soon turned into chaos and screams. pretty son a man in a white mask stalking with a huge kitchen knife in hand and dawning a pure white face mask. soon screams ensued and the high tension score played and  rang through the small theater. I was freaked and scared lol my aunt wanted to watch told  me not watch and to lay in her lap till it was over . Not seeing but still hearing still made it scary as hell lol after all that you never guess what my favorite franchise is????

Family and surroundings is what got me into horror, like when my parents would have movie nights with my aunt and uncle, where one movie me and my cousin were forbidden to watch hear or even not get close to it, so we were thrown in my room with video games and a vcr and tons of candy and food lol to not come out while they watched the infamous 1973 william peter blatty's The Exorcist. 

So when everyone hears and sees from my horror tees to my horror decal vehicle, my playlist and video post, and when they ask, why?? with horror movies and Halloween go hand in hand and cant be without each other in a small way. i tell them my story and tell them..... OCTOBER MADE ME DO IT  ; )
