does anyone else just have paranoid parents?
no one really talks about how much it sucks to have parents that always assume the worst is going to happen while you're out. hot take but they're not protecting you they're making u miss out on ur own teenage years. these are the years where you have to mess up in order for you to learn for those mistakes and situations that shape you into the person you end up becoming.
I don't think its fair how my parents tell me "its not save" and to a point I understand where they're coming from ofc they both have had their fair part of dangerous or creepy situations and yes ofc there's creeps all over but they can't always protect me days ofc when they were young it was normalized to be outside and all around town I get jealous but its not like I be asking to do the same its literally going to a friends house parties or to the park
they really selfish my dad talking about no more hanging out with friends when school starts when I have told them multiple times that the reason my depression gets worse is when I don't hangout with friends who care. im in high school god you cant keep me js at school and home im going insane this Sumer has sucked kinda the first moth I was going out and now I barely see my friends all because I go out too much at this point I can only hangout with a friend once a week.

Wise words. Perhaps the worst thing that a person can take from another is the right to face one's own consequences. I'd like to see more of this kind of thinking. Kudos.
That said, I do hope you are diligent with respect to what to heed and what not to. Even annoying, controlling, and unjust authorities can be correct. Be safe.
