was pleasantly informed that patricia highsmith was queer today . i would say surprised but strangers on a train reads like prehistoric yaoi. can i get vulnerable? i dropped my copy of that book in an airport toilet and instead of throwing it away outright i put it on a radiator and finished it before throwing the dogeared thing away. the book meanders a great deal if im recalling correctly but i liked the obsession in it.
this resurfaced in my mind because istarted reading the talented mr ripley today... it's one of those books where i watched the film first but it's even worse because i watched the jude law film and the andrew scott series before touching the original. im really bad at separating books and movie adaptations from each other so i have to read the book first otherwise it gets tainted by the actors voices and likenesses and i feel like im reading a memory of a real person fanfiction of a Book of a movie of a script of a whisper.
the sunday times said 'its as haunting and harrowing a study of a schizophrenic murderer as paper will bear' . apparently . idk if paper has tried to bear that many times before so im not sure if it's a positive review.
I'm writing this instead of reading Goodnight:)
