This is not an attack on anyone but it feels important to say.

People who see themselves as intellectuals assume they have broad and general domain versus anyone who...? Doesn't have a degree? Doesn't agree with them? Has a narrow expertise that isn't recorded and documented by broad scoped institutions? The smartest people I've ever met are stuck working silly jobs because other hindrances, personalities less than socially acceptable, responsibilities bigger than obtaining propaganda certifications?

Then the more narcissistic ones tend to put their opponents into boxes and abstract their opinions from the standpoint of "how could this homunculus disagree with me? especially when I'm right, they don't have the same piece of paper as me so clearly they must be falling for propaganda" it's impossible for some of these people to recognize and respect that others despite having access to the same information can still disagree. AND still be intelligent and well thought out people. 

KNOWLEDGE IS NO LONGER GATEKEPT.

Everyone can see what you see, everyone can study what they care about. The random plumber on the side of the street probably has an interest or two he's pursued more thoroughly than majority of the distraught exhausted and uninterested professors and teachers could ever instill to you.

PEOPLE CAN DISAGREE WITH THE METHODOLOGIES BEHIND THE STUDIES YOU CLING TO. They're not stupid, or being dragged along an alt right pipeline, or conspiracy theorists, they just looked at the studies and came to a different conclusion. They might have more pause in the discrepancies, they might have seen antithetical studies that seemed to have been pruned with more scientific rigor, but no, you disagree with me because you're STUPID AND IM SMART and there can be no other reason. 

sorry for the rant guys I've just seen so much of this on here and in my family I figured I'd whine about it.
