physical media players

    I thought I would share (cuz im yapping about it to literally everyone for no reason) about my newest pickup- free boombox! I got it from the place i was volunteering at cuz they had 2 on a shelf in the room where i was working and i asked one of the people in charge and they said i could take one of them!!! I was thrilled ofc cuz ive been wanting a cd player with built in speakers that wasnt like one of those shitty new ones. I have also been wanting another cassette player cuz the cassette recorder that I had been using before was from my mom from way back when and it was heavily used and made my cassettes sound warpy :(. So yay! I now have something to play cds and cassettes with good speakers :P. However... i was playing my mallrats soundtrack cd earlier--it has some scratches on it from when i played it on my portable cd player and walked around at school--and my boombox was s t r u g g l i n g. It kept skipping and buffering ;-; made me sad. Weird though cuz it plays perfectly fine on my portable cd player. If any of yall might have an idea why this is happening or something to check or whatever lmk. I was pleasantly surprised though when I was playing my empire records soundtrack cd though cuz theres this one song that always skips at the end for some reason on my portable but on my boombox it was perfectly fine! I usually skip the song anyway though cuz I don't like it (literally the only song i dont like on it though- the rest are absolute bangers). 

    Now the only thing I have left to get that i really really want other than random stuff I dont need is a portable dvd player. My parents are against it because they dont really want me getting dvds when i can watch it for free and also cuz they dont want to store all of them but like its not like im gonna go out buying dvds if its not something i would watch more than once- like its worth it! And I enjoy watchin movies on a screen size like my laptop because I prefer that to the TV. That's because if i watch on the TV people will probably intrude and bother me while im watching. But i just love dvds so much especially for the special features that you cant get on pirating or streaming or anything (except like if you look up the specific thing on youtube or whatever but its not the same as using the specialized menus). Like going through those menus is like a whole part of the entertainment that we dont get anymore and I miss it. I wish my parents understood that :(. We do have a dvd player and vcr near the TV though so its not like i dont have stuff to watch dvds or vhs tapes on but like id rather be able to bring it wherever i want yk? Portable things are always useful and they are super fun usually :P. Anyways thats enough of my yap for today!
