at this point everyone knows who cookie king is. and is now getting very popular (especially with women!!!) at first , i was like why are so many women entering the lm space ???
i realized that it was because he had an eating disorder (keyword : had) and ig this started the whole “starvemaxxing” trend in lm. if it didn’t start the fad , it def popularized it.
as we all know edtwt is a place where people with eds connect and talk , and sometimes talk about how they get worse!! i would know because i used to be apart of this community on twitter.
obviously, looksmaxxing was popular, and people shunned it for bp ideology (which i believe in) and for being corny ig. because it was well known, and then starvemaxxing became a thing, that would eventually get to the people on edtwt.
around this time, cookie was kinda deep in his eating disorder. and then, all of these girls with eating disorders were in his comments talking about his eating disorder. i guess because he was an attractive guy and had shared a similarity with these people, they basically started worshipping him for lack of a better word. (examples of this are tongue. and a girl in his comments that literally posts her bodychecks saying “hi dada” or smth like that.)
NOW, after cookie has obviously gotten better and is back to a healthy weight, you would expect all of these people to leave his community, right? wrong. there are still people in his comments acting like hes some person worth idolizing.
everytime he posts a video eating/food review people are still in his comments saying “straight to the toilet after this” and “are you sure about that?” with an image of snejana onopka (another person popular in the ed community)
this irks me so bad. cookie is recovered/in recovery and people treat things like this too lightly. they act like its a joke.
another example of this is phreshboyswag. ur probably wondering who the hell is that and i’ll just say hes a rapper.
phresh used to be a drug addict. it was bad. during interviews, he would obviously be high off something. and on his insta stories he would openly ask if anyone dealt specific drugs in the area.
during shows, he would be barely mobile and there are multiple clips of him not being able to move off 🐴. theres literally a clip of him having to be assisted down the stairs because his legs couldn’t move. HIS LEGS COULDNT MOVE. HE WAS PARALYZED.
and people made jokes out of this. do you not realize how insane that is. imagine battling drug addiction and people are making jokes about you and your life threatening behaviors. its sad.
currently, phreshboy has said multiple times that he is trying to recover and is doing his best to step away from drugs.
it’s also worth mentioning that phreshboyswag has dyspraxia. dyspraxia affects your motor skills and your balance, makes it hard for you to perform tasks, and affects the way you speak. phreshboyswag has stated that he has dyspraxia and has always spoke slowly because of this.
even though he has dyspraxia, he still does concerts and shows and stuff !! and yk people like to record and post clips of artists when they see them irl, and people do this with phresh too.
they post these clips on tiktok, and people go in the comments and do the same thing as they did with cookie. saying things like “hes never sober,” “never a sober show,” and i vividly remember someone saying, “seeing phreshboyswag has inspired me to take my drug use to the next level.”
are you noticing a theme yet?
unlike cookie, there are ppl who wish him well with recovery, but it just makes me feel disgusted knowing that there are real people saying things like this to people in recovery.
they dont realize it, but sometimes these things can lead to the og persons death. it could cause them to relapse. saying things like this could cause someone to relapse. saying things like this could cause someone to relapse. saying things like this could cause someones death, and they dont even realize.
sorry for long rant, this just was something i had to get off my chest.
