Popular girl humor breakdown

So the term popular girl humor, we all heard it(specially recently) in case if you don’t know well popular girl or often called pretty girl humor is a broad term used to describe conventional attractive/popular girls who jokes about typically “nerdy” things to appear more relatable or quirky. For example ppl dressing up as the Lorax and dancing or the Junko poses with the FNAF music in the background, or even popular phrases like clock it, 67, in it, are prime examples of popular girl humor and to a lot of people this is unfunny a reason being that these people decide to use “nerd” things as a way to try to be funny or as a way to go “guys look I’m so quirky and silly” which in reality those people are just doing it to be funny or because they think it’s a hilarious thing to do but there not a part of that fandom, and to the people who do actually like doing that type of thing it’s like wait no your using the stuff I like for your entertainment and enjoyment and you don’t even like it? I personally think it’s making fun of the people who like it, like you’re mocking people who actually like doing it to make a joke out of it. Now the reason why people or getting so angry and upset over it is because your taking nerd or niche things that certain type of audience actually enjoys and introducing it to people that find it weird and unfunny, who are taking those things and are mocking them for their own entertainment. Although in my opinion it’s just not a good thing to do I get why they do this type of stuff it’s because they don’t want to be viewed as just the average person living a day to day lifestyle so to get steered away from this they try to fit into something they aren’t just to be viewed as different from others because they don’t want to be perceived as just the normal person, that’s why you often see people bragging about how rare something they have or can do is because they don’t want to be seen as just some regular person. As they try to be this thing though they forget what it’s really about, it’s not about dressing up like a certain way or liking a certain thing to become a nerd it’s more of a way of thinking and expression being a nerd is about expressing what you like even when it’s not mainstream or well liked that is what nerd culture is really all about, not just being into a certain thing or dressing a type of way like yes it can be part of it but it’s not the main thing it is like I said previously it’s a mindset, and a lot of people don’t like that, it’s being used as just some trend not as a way to genuinely like and appreciate what these aspects are of nerdy likes and dislikes. So the point of this rant you may ask? Just be yourself it might take a long time but be yourself at the end of the day. (Common thing to say ik)
