Resident Evil 6: EXTENDED
Amaro N. Sanchez - Agent Log
A Romanian and Spanish 37 yr old DSO agent past known as an Umbrella scientist and researcher with a infected but cured dog from Umbrella with a specially curated virus that was luckily never made public due to Amaro's quick thinking on betraying Umbrella after seeing what they did to his dog which he later named Radu. He is around 6 '2 and has a lean but muscular build with a burn scar on his right side due to Umbrella finding out his betrayal and the DSO interrogating him over his past cooperation with them.
After years of serving his life as a DSO agent, Hunnigan ends up putting him up with a partner, Tahlia Livingstone, he argues around the idea mostly trusting Radu to be his supposed “partner” on missions though it was against the DSO regulations. He inevitably gave in after being threatened to have to serve the DSO for more years though it took a long while, he warmed up to Tahlia having her as his now only trusted individual. No one else other than higher ups and her even knew his story, not something he was very proud of growing up into how he is now.
Mission Log – Operation Black Veil: Amaro N. Sanchez
Recipients: Leon S. Kennedy & Tahlia Livingstone
Date: December 30th 2014
Location: Eastern Europe - Classified DSO Mission Zone
Mission Briefing:
The DSO deployed me and Tahlia to investigate a rumored B.O.W. outbreak near the remains of an abandoned Umbrella research facility in Eastern Europe. Intel suggested a resurgence of enhanced bio-organic weapons, potentially linked to Neo-Umbrella’s lingering efforts. The objective was simple: eliminate the threat and secure any viable data before it fell into the wrong hands.
Of course, simple objectives never stay simple.
Mission Commencement:
Radu was on edge the moment we approached the perimeter. His senses never failed me before, and I trusted his instincts more than most agents I’d worked with. His low growls and tense posture warned of something moving in the shadows. Tahlia and I exchanged glances, unholstering our weapons as we breached the main doors.
Inside, the air was thick with decay, the remnants of past horrors lingering like a bad memory. The facility was in shambles, overrun by nature and neglect, but something else was here. Something alive. The flickering emergency lights illuminated the faint glisten of bio-contaminants staining the walls.
First Encounter:
We weren’t alone for long. The moment we reached the central corridor, the floor trembled. A grotesque mutation, standing at least ten feet tall, burst through a rusted containment door. A malformed hybrid, a fusion of human tissue and reptilian DNA, reinforced with chitinous plating along its limbs.
"Shit contact!" Tahlia barked as she took cover, opening fire.
The creature let out an ear-splitting roar and lunged, forcing us to scatter. Radu, ever fearless, darted ahead, aiming for the exposed flesh around its joints. I covered him, unloading a full clip into the beast's side as Tahlia moved to flank it.
Unexpected Reinforcements:
Just as we thought we had the upper hand, another presence made itself known. More movement. More gunfire.
"Took you two long enough to get here," Leon’s voice cut through the chaos as he and Helena emerged from a side passage, weapons drawn. "We figured you could use a hand."
I didn’t have time to argue, figures Hunnigan calls in extra with us two working overtime. Helena tossed Tahlia an extra clip while Leon and I fell into an instinctive rhythm, decades of fieldwork between us making teamwork effortless. The creature was relentless. Tactical rounds barely slowed it down, but as Radu sank his teeth into a vulnerable tendon, it gave me an opening. One shot to the exposed spinal cord, and the beast staggered. Another from Tahlia, and the thing collapsed.
The body twitched, then ignited. I barely had time to register the detonation before the explosion roared through the corridor. Flames surged, illuminating the wreckage, sending shadows stretching long against the walls. Suddenly, I wasn’t in that facility anymore. I was back in another inferno, flames licking at my skin, burning, searing, punishing. Umbrella’s retribution. The agony of betrayal branded into my flesh. I couldn’t move. Couldn’t hear. Couldn’t breathe. A hand grabbed my arm firm, grounding. Leon. His voice cut through the haze.
“We need to move.”
For a second, I didn’t. Then I saw it in his eyes. Concern. Something deeper. He didn’t let go until I did. The flames still burned in my mind, but Leon had pulled me back from the brink. By the time we regrouped outside, the facility was crumbling behind us. The mission was complete, but something had shifted. Tahlia stood beside Helena, close, almost protective in the way she checked her over. And Helena who was usually all sharp edges softened just a fraction in response. I noticed it. And judging by the smirk Leon shot me, so did he.
“You trust her,” he murmured.
I glanced at Tahlia. She was tending to Radu, murmuring something I couldn’t hear. The dog nudged against her, unwavering in his loyalty. I hadn’t realized until now that I felt the same.
“Yeah, I do.”
Leon didn’t press, but there was something else in his expression, something unreadable. Maybe if things had been different if we weren’t agents, if we weren’t carrying the weight of too many ghosts, I would’ve reached for it. For him.
Maybe I already had.
Closing Statement:
To Leon: Let’s hope this isn’t the last time our paths cross. Don’t tell anyone but, I might miss you…a little.
To Tahlia: If you ever tell anyone I said this, I’ll deny it, but… I trust you. Thanks for having my back. Always.
